Processing time: TSS Visa Processing Time for short-term stream for around 75 per cent of application is 30 days while 90percent of an application takes around 46 days.

Medium-term stream

The purpose of the visa is the same as the short-term visa; the only thing that differs is what you can do with it

• You can work in a job in Australia for up to 4 years to 5 years

• You can study without any government assistance

• Travel to and from Australia during the visa validity 

• Apply for PR (permanent residence) if eligible.

The processing time for a mid-term stream visa takes around 30 to 60 days.

Labour agreement stream

The labour agreement stream visa is for skilled workers who are hired by the employers that have a labour agreement. The labour agreement is a form of contract between the Australian Government and employers. The rules of other schemes apply to this stream also. It takes around 35 days to 50 days to process 482 visas under the labour agreement stream.

The basic eligibility

The eligibility to apply for 482 visas includes as follows:

• You must be recommended for a vacant position and full-time skilled job by an approved sponsor

•You should possess proper skills that the job demands

•You should qualify for the English requirement applicable to your stream

•If granted the visa, you are required to only work in the recommended position (except in very limited circumstances)
